Welcome to Tyr Winch Gastro Pub


Husband and wife team, Andrew and Lorna Edwards, are delighted to welcome you to this historic Grade II listed pub, a true gem in the heart of St Mellons, Cardiff. Since taking custodianship in June 2021, their mission has been to restore the pub to its glorious former days as a vibrant centre of the local community.

With flagstone floors and three cozy open fires, the pub offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. Following a tasteful refurbishment, we are confident that you will love the blend of tradition and modern comfort, both inside and out.


Our dedicated brigade of chefs serves up traditional pub classics alongside an array of inspired specials from our talented international chefs. Whether you're visiting for a Sunday roast, a relaxing evening meal, or one of our specialty events, you'll find something to delight your taste buds.

Now Open: Our New Covered Outdoor Seating Area in Cardiff We’re excited to reveal our newly refurbished outdoor seating area here at Ty’r Winch in Cardiff – the perfect spot to relax with a drink or meal, whatever the weather. The upper deck pergola is now fully covered, and the roof has been extended, creating a stylish, sheltered space ideal for casual dining or evening drinks. Whether you're stopping by for a bite to eat or just a coffee, our outdoor area offers comfort and character in equal measure. And there’s more to come – we’ll soon be adding enclosed sides and outdoor heating, making it even easier to enjoy the space year-round.
