We’re delighted to share that Ty’r Winch has been named a Good Food Award winner for 2026/27 — our first time receiving this award, and a proud moment for everyone here.


At our gastro pub in Old St Mellons, Cardiff, we put a lot of care into the things that make a meal memorable: homemade food, a warm welcome and somewhere comfortable to enjoy time with family and friends. Receiving this recognition means a great deal to us.

Christmas at Ty’r Winch is now live The most magical time of year is nearly here — and Christmas at Ty’r Winch is now available to book. Whether you’re planning a festive get-together with friends, a family celebration or the all-important work Christmas party, we have everything you need for a brilliant night out: delicious festive food, a warm welcome, roaring fires and plenty of Christmas atmosphere. Our Festive Menu is available throughout the season, with two courses for £28.95 or three courses for £33.45. For those looking to make a proper night of it, our popular Christmas Party Nights include a festive meal followed by live entertainment from Gavin Sheppard — perfect for teams, groups and celebrations. And there’s even more to look forward to this year. Our Winter Wine Bar will be back, bigger and better, with warming drinks, festive treats and German sausages adding to the atmosphere around the pub. Dates always go quickly, especially for Friday and Saturday nights, so we would strongly recommend booking early. A £10 deposit per person secures your Christmas party booking. A New Summer Menu Is Arriving at Ty’r Winch We’ve been working on this one for a while. Our new summer menu will be arriving at Ty’r Winch next week — a refresh of some of our most popular dishes, alongside a handful of new additions we’re really excited about. As always, the focus is simple: good ingredients, cooked properly, and dishes you’ll want to come back for. This latest menu will bring a lighter feel for the warmer months, with a mix of seasonal flavours, fresh ingredients, and a few stronger, richer dishes still there for those who know exactly what they like. Some of our favourites have been refined, and a number of new dishes will be introduced across the menu — all designed to sit comfortably alongside what Ty’r Winch has become known for. Whether you’re joining us for a relaxed lunch, an evening meal, or something a little more special, the new menu is designed to suit every occasion.  To celebrate the launch, we’ll be offering 25% off all new dishes from Wednesday to Saturday during launch week . It’s a great opportunity to come and try something new, and to experience the menu from day one.
